Ministry Support

Helping ministries and the people who serve

One of the ways God provides is through other believers. We commit at least 10% of our income to helping ministries serving in the Hawaii Pacific region. Here are the three areas we help in:

  • Supporting education and training – We can help provide funds for education and training that helps people serve God better.
  • Meeting unforeseen needs – We want to help when disaster strikes or other challenges arise that make ministry even more difficult.
  • Helping ministries to underserved people – We want to partner with these ministries to help minister to the underserved in the name of the Lord.

If your church or ministry has a need and would like to request support from us, use the link to download our grant application form.

Who do we help?

  • Preference goes to Southern Baptist churches and other ministries that are part of the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention.
  • We also give consideration to ministries who affirm the Baptist Faith and Message.

In addition to ministry support grants, we also help through

  • Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) – We invest and distribute funds for individual donors who determine how the money is used. Contact us if you want to know how you can set up a DAF.
  • KOKUA scholarships – For children of full-time pastors serving HPBC churches

Join us in this work. Whether you are a church, ministry, or donor, we invite you to partner with us in supporting God’s calling and investing in lives that will shape future generations.

KOKUA Scholarship

This endowed scholarship fund was started in memory of J. Russell Duffer and his wife, Rhoda Alice Duffer, who ministered in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas. The Duffers emphasized the importance of education to their children. One of their sons, Bob, a longtime HPBC pastor, and his wife, June, started this fund and have continued to contribute to it. The endowment has grown even further through the generosity of other Hawaii Pacific Baptists and investments made by the Hawaii Baptist Foundation.

The KOKUA Scholarship provides financial assistance for the post-high school education of children of full-time ministers within the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention. To apply for the scholarship:
